Yes, Miss Lena Martin has her own page on Facebook. She has a growing number of friends, too, who don't seem to mind that she passed away 60 years ago. When she isn't busy with haunting the Gadsden Public Library she enjoys making posts - and friends - on Facebook. Don't be shy. Miss Lena would love to hear from you!
Statistics! Stop that! I saw you yawning. Actually, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the visitors to this website and blog. As of this writing, there have been over 400 visits since the site went live in September. Not only are people across Alabama checking us out, but we've had visitors from Georgia, Michigan and Texas as well. Needless to say, I'm excited! Thanks for stopping by and exploring.
Don't forget to check out our Twitter page and Facebook pages. They are a great way to keep up with the current events at the library. You can also visit the library's website www.gadsdenlibrary.org.
"We now return you to our regular blog...."
Don't forget the history buff or genealogist on your shopping list! Christmas, birthdays, or just to say thank you. With all of the people (over 200) pictured in Gadsden Public Library: 100 Years of Service - well, YOU just might be in there.... or your parents... or grandparents... your neighbor....
I've even made it easy for you by providing the links to several online places where you can buy a copy. Just go to the "Order Your Copy" tab above. Oh, and did I mention that every copy sold helps to support the library? The library will get a royalty check! Pretty cool.
As one of the authors of the library history book, I thought it would be fun and vital to have a site dedicated to the library and chronicle its move toward the future. ~Julie Dobbins
